Below-grade waterproofing + VIMS · Western Canada since 1983
Keep water out.
Keep soil gas out.
One system below grade.
We help architects, envelope consultants and contractors pick, specify, detail and verify CETCO waterproofing and vapour intrusion mitigation on tough sites across BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba — tidal groundwater, contaminated fill, peat, landfills and radon country.
Start with the site, not the product
What's under your building decides what goes around it.
Pick the condition that matches your geotech or environmental report. We'll take it from there.
Water
High water table & tidal sites
Lakefront, riverfront and reclaimed shoreline parkades under hydrostatic pressure, often blindside against shoring or secant piles.
Typical system: VOLTEX DS tanking · SWELLTITE · COREFLEX for extreme head
Water + contaminants
Brownfields & impacted fill
Former rail yards, mills, gas stations and transit garages. Walls sit against hydrocarbon or saline groundwater that attacks ordinary membranes.
Typical system: ULTRASEAL · COREFLEX · Waterstop XP — confirmed by a water-compatibility test
Gas
Methane: peat, landfills, wells
Fraser delta and valley-bottom peat, former landfills and old dump sites, and legacy oil & gas wells across the prairies.
Typical system: VINTEGRA or LIQUID BOOT over an engineered venting layer, per the site assessment
Gas
Radon country
BC's Southern Interior, the Prairies and southern Manitoba. BC now requires a radon rough-in on new construction province-wide.
Typical system: VINTEGRA as the sealed soil-gas barrier, ready for sub-slab depressurization
Vapour intrusion mitigation
VINTEGRA: waterproofing and gas barrier in one sheet.
Most below-grade assemblies use one product for water and another for soil gas — two installers, two warranties and a tie-in at every edge. VINTEGRA bonds an active bentonite waterproofing layer to an EVOH gas barrier film, so one crew installs one continuous membrane under slab, on backfilled walls and blindside against shoring.

How we work with design teams
From geotech report to warranty, one point of contact.
01
Send the site data
Geotech, ESA or soil-vapour report, design groundwater level and drawings.
02
System + spec language
Recommendation and Division 07 / 31 wording, with water-compatibility testing where contaminants are present.
03
Details that close
Penetrations, transitions, waterstops and the water-to-gas interface.
04
Approved applicators
Trained installers across BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, plus budget pricing for trade tenders.
05
Inspected & warranted
Independent inspection and CETCO's HydroShield quality-assurance warranty.
Specs already issued? We still review them and propose clarifications or substitutions during construction.
